There is little to no discomfort during a permanent makeup procedure. Most clients describe the sensation as light pressure or mild discomfort—often far less than that of a traditional tattoo. In fact, many clients find the experience so relaxing that they fall asleep during their appointment.
To ensure your comfort, Estherina uses a highly effective, professional-grade topical anesthetic to gently numb the brow area before and throughout the procedure. During your consultation, you may choose whether or not to pre-numb your brows, as pain tolerance varies from person to person.
Please note that opting for pre-numbing will add approximately 30 minutes to your appointment to allow the anesthetic time to fully take effect. Clients with a higher pain tolerance may prefer to proceed without pre-numbing and begin the procedure immediately.
If you choose not to pre-numb, a soothing anesthetic gel will still be applied throughout the treatment to minimize any discomfort and keep you at ease.
While individual sensitivity levels may vary, Estherina is deeply committed to ensuring your comfort and will go above and beyond to create a calm, supportive, and relaxing experience from start to finish.
Your procedure may take approximately 2–4 hours, depending on the complexity of your desired brow style, how your skin responds to pigment, and whether you choose to pre-numb the brow area.
At Maison De Finesse, precision and artistry are paramount. Estherina will not begin the procedure until you are completely satisfied with the customized shape mapped out for you. Each appointment is approached with care and intention—there is never any rushing.
We kindly recommend keeping your schedule clear following your appointment and allowing an additional 1–2 hours as a buffer, should your service extend beyond the estimated timeframe.
- Creates a soft, airbrushed, makeup-inspired finish that enhances the brows while remaining natural and refined

- Ideal for clients with sparse, uneven, or asymmetrical brows
- Customizable in shape, color, and intensity—from soft and subtle to bold and defined
- Reduces daily makeup time while maintaining a polished, effortless look
Very little preparation is required prior to your appointment; however, the following recommendations will help ensure the best possible results:
- If you have a preferred brow shape or color, you are welcome to bring reference photos or arrive with your brows filled in as you normally wear them. Estherina will take your vision into consideration while recommending a shape and shade best suited to your facial features and skin undertone.
- We recommend avoiding waxing, threading, or tweezing your brows for at least one week prior to your appointment. That said, this decision is entirely up to you.
- Please avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Niacin, Fish Oil, and Vitamin E 24–48 hours before your appointment unless medically necessary. Tylenol is permitted.
- Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and blood-thinning substances for 24 hours prior to your appointment to help minimize bleeding during and after the procedure.
- We strongly recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure for four weeks before and after your procedure, as UV rays can cause premature pigment fading. If sun avoidance is not possible, please wear a hat and apply sunscreen for protection.
No preparation is necessary. Estherina will remove any unwanted hair and custom-shape your brows prior to the procedure to ensure a precise and flattering result.
If you have a specific look in mind, you are welcome to bring reference photos of your desired style. While every effort will be made to achieve your vision, please note that not all brow shapes suit every facial structure. Estherina will thoughtfully consider your request while offering professional guidance to create a style that complements your unique features beautifully.
Ombré Powder Brows typically last between 1–3 years. Over time, the pigment will gradually fade, allowing for soft, natural-looking results rather than harsh permanence.
Longevity varies from person to person and is influenced by factors such as age, skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pre- and post-care, and ongoing maintenance. Please note that individual healing responses differ, and while every effort is made to achieve optimal results, longevity and retention cannot be guaranteed.
Touch ups vary for each individual. Ombré Powder is a two-step procedure. A touch up appointment is required 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment to correct any minor imperfections, then you may get additional touch-ups annually, to maintain your desired look.
Step 1: Your initial appointment
Step 2: You perfecting/touch up appointment (6-8 weeks after Step 1 has been completed).
There is little to no downtime following your procedure, allowing you to return to most daily activities immediately. You may experience mild redness or slight swelling in the brow area immediately after your appointment; however, this is temporary and typically subsides within a few hours.
The physical healing process occurs in three stages:
- The Bold Stage
- The Flaking/Peeling Stage
- The Lightening Stage
Healing varies from person to person; however, the initial healing period typically takes 7–14 days. During this time, you may experience light flaking or peeling, which will naturally shed on its own. Once flaking has fully completed, the skin is considered healed.
Final results continue to develop beneath the surface and may take 4–6 weeks to fully reveal themselves. We kindly ask for your patience during this time, as the pigment settles and softens beautifully.
Yes! Your brows will eventually shrink in size & heal 30-50% lighter.
Under no circumstances should you pick, peel, or remove flakes yourself. All flaking must be allowed to fall away naturally. This is essential to proper healing and optimal pigment retention.
We understand that this stage can feel lengthy or uncomfortable. However, carefully following your aftercare instructions will directly impact how beautifully your brows heal and the quality of your final results.
Yes. Healing time and pigment retention can vary based on several individual factors, including:
- Skin type
- Age
- Physical activity level
- Diet and overall health
- Sun exposure
- Pre and post-care adherence
Because every client heals differently, following all recommended aftercare guidelines is essential for achieving the best possible results.
Following your appointment, you will be provided with an aftercare kit that includes a brow cleanser, brow ointment, and detailed aftercare instructions. Proper aftercare is essential to ensure optimal healing and long-lasting pigment retention.
Please adhere to the following guidelines during the first few weeks after your procedure:
- Keep brows completely dry. Avoid all water contact during the healing process, as moisture can prevent proper pigment retention. You may cleanse your face, but do so carefully. Use a cotton pad to cleanse around the brow area, avoiding direct contact.
- Avoid sweating for a minimum of two weeks. Sweat can push pigment out of the skin and compromise your results. Refrain from activities that cause perspiration until all scabbing or flaking has naturally fallen away.
- Avoid sun exposure for four weeks. UV exposure can significantly affect pigment retention. If sun avoidance is not possible, wear a hat at all times. After the first two weeks, a small amount of sunscreen may be gently applied.
- Do not apply makeup to the brows during the healing period. This procedure makeup eliminates the need for brow cosmetics while healing.
- Do not pick, peel, or scratch. Allow all flakes and scabs to fall off naturally to prevent pigment loss and uneven healing.
- Avoid long, hot, steamy showers for the first 14 days.
- Sleep carefully. Avoid resting your face directly on your pillow, as friction can cause premature flaking and pigment loss. Whenever possible, sleep on your back or position your head toward the edge of the pillow.
Strictly following these instructions is crucial for achieving beautifully healed, long-lasting results.
Once your healing period is complete, you may resume your regular activities. To maintain your results and preserve the integrity of your brows, we recommend scheduling regular touch-up appointments.
To prolong pigment retention, avoid using active skincare ingredients such as lactic acid, glycolic acid, and retinol in the brow area, as these may cause premature fading. If these products are part of your routine, apply them at least one inch away from the brows.
Yes. If you currently have Microblading or Ombré Powder Brows performed by another artist, Estherina may be able to reshape, redefine, and color-correct your brows, provided you are a suitable candidate.
Please note that not all clients qualify for corrective or cover-up work. Treatments may not be possible if the skin is overworked or scarred, or if the existing pigment is too saturated.
To determine eligibility, you must submit a clear, unfiltered photo of your brows (without makeup) to info@maisonefinesse.com prior to booking. Estherina will personally review your photos and advise whether a cover-up procedure is appropriate.
Please do not book a cover-up appointment without prior approval, as doing so may result in forfeiture of your deposit.
You may be considered an excellent candidate for Ombré Powder Brows if you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- All skin types are suitable, including dry, normal, combination, and oily skin
(Dry to normal skin types tend to retain pigment longer and heal more predictably, while oily skin may experience faster fading.) - Sparse, patchy, or uneven brows that require added density and definition
- Minimal or no natural brow hair
Because of its versatility and gentle implantation technique, Ombré Powder is our preferred method, particularly for clients with oily skin or larger pores, where microblading may not heal optimally.
Please note that results will vary from person to person based on individual skin characteristics, lifestyle, and aftercare.
Medical Considerations
If you have a pre-existing medical condition or are taking certain medications, you may still be eligible for semi-permanent makeup. However, expectations may need to be adjusted. We strongly recommend consulting with both your doctor and Estherina prior to booking.
If your doctor approves the procedure, a doctor’s note is required at the time of your appointment.
You Are Not a Candidate If Any of the Following Apply:
- Under 18 years of age
- Pregnant or nursing
- Currently ill (cold, flu, cough, viral infection)
- Active skin conditions near the treatment area, including eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, sunburn, acne, or rashes
